As we all breath a collective Gasp to find out that the Opera Mini browser is available at the app store:

My initial impressions that it is pretty slick and quick.
Time will tell if its worth switching.

iPad-The More I think about it….
I’ve been thinking about the iPad. The more I think about it the more I like it. I know a lot of people were disappointed that it appears to be just a larger IPod Touch. But think about how you would use a Tablet. I would want to use a Tablet to watch movies, YouTube and of course an Ereader. I might play the occasional game. I would also want to use it for email and web browsing. Would I want to use it to make websites on….no. Do I really need to run multiple apps at once….not really. I would use it for more of a couch computer, or my on the go computer. So I think the IPad really finds a niche between my MacBook Pro and IPhone.
If magazine and newspaper publishers make apps to kick up their respective content for a new multimedia age, I think it will rock! Imagine if they have embedded videos and interactive polls etc.
Just my thoughts!

iPad
My thoughts on the ipad….I want one!
Is it perfect, of course not.
I wish it was more. I wish it had a USB port and a camera. However, I do see it filling a niche. I attend courses and classes and it would be much easier to use the ipad as opposed to bringing my Macbook Pro. I am definitely happy to see the iWork suite redesigned for it. I read a lot and want an e-reader, as I see an ereader as saving me money on books and will shelf space. I wish more was shown about iBooks. Does it allow for annotations or note taking? Can I copy text from a book and store them somewhere?
I guess I’ll have to wait and try one out for myself.

The blessing of….rice!
A horrible thing happened today. I was trying to shovel out my car which got stuck on the driveway and my Iphone fell into the snow. When i saw it my heart sank. I quickly turned off the phone and did my best to dry off the phone. When I turned it on after a few minutes all seemed well and I was relieved…until I got a phone call about 1/2 hour later and couldn’t hear or be heard. When I got home I quickly searched the web and found this:

I used a blow dryer and vacuum to get rid of the moisture and then into a bowl of rice my phone went for a couple of hours. When i tried a few times during this time no luck. It seemed like the phone thought there were headphones plugged in. But then i tried again and everything seems to functioning correctly again.

And the winner is…..
Just read a review on Ars Technica for Parallels 5. At the end they compare VMWare Fusion 3 and Parallels 5. And the winner is….VMWare Fusion 3. Apparently Parallels 5 is just to buggy.
